I really like the style that this has been photographer. It is a really interesting composition with a lit of contrast and depth. It really shows how this room is someones life. I would like to photograph my series in this style also.
Patrick Zachmann
Ile-de-France, Val d'Oise, Sarcelles 1989.
Originally from Senegal, the SAM family lives in the residence "Les Sablons" ,composed of 620 apartments.
I really like the interesting use of composition in this photograph as it's taken at eye level beside the couch. I would like to include photographs with compositions such as this in my own series.
Ferdinando Scianna
ITALY. Naples. 1994.
One of five children living in a one room flat with his family.
I would like to photograph the laundry at the cube with this type of bleak style. Perhaps I could also use monochrome for some of the images to achieve this very real and mundane effect.
When photographing the kitchen perhaps I could use this type of effect in composition in colour such as Sarfati has done in his photograph here.I feel this really shows a lot about the flatting life.
Lise Sarfati
Town of Saint Petersburg. Kitchen in a collective apartment.
Jonas Bendiksen
USA. Brooklyn, New York. 2002. Dr. Sharad Kumar DICKSHEET in his apartment, surrounded by his mess.
Lise Sarfati
RUSSIA. City of St Petersbourg. 2000.
Collective apartment on Starorussiya street, 550 m2 shared by 30 persons. 18 families live in 15 rooms.
Lise Sarfati
RUSSIA. City of St Petersbourg. 2000.
Phil (bare-chested) and his friend Micha are doing drugs in Phil's room. He lives whit his family in a skyscraper apartment. His biggest idol is Jim Morrison.
I really like the three images shown above as they really show the clutter and mess from flatting life. The composition is looking from the side at eye level but it really takes a step back to see the room. Everything is in focus and the viewer gets a real feel as to what the room must be like in person. All the details of the mess and clutter and shown in this style of photographing. I also like that this style pf photography is in colour as it really adds to the clutter and mess. It also really contributes to the overall feeling of the room.
